The VDC Manager will lead and oversee BIM/VDC initiatives related to mechanical systems across large-scale commercial and infrastructure projects. This individual will work closely with project teams, trade partners, and stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination, clash detection, and integration of digital construction workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop & Implement VDC Strategies: Drive the adoption of BIM workflows and digital construction technologies for mechanical systems.
- Model Coordination & Clash Detection: Manage coordination efforts using Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP, and BIM 360, resolving clashes and optimizing project execution.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with project managers, field teams, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Technology & Process Optimization: Leverage BIM tools and methodologies to improve efficiency and accuracy in mechanical system installations.
- Field Support & Training: Provide technical guidance to field teams and mentor stakeholders on VDC best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 5+ years in a VDC/BIM role, with at least 3 years of mechanical system coordination experience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Software Expertise: Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP, Dynamo, and BIM 360.
- Project Background: Extensive experience working on commercial, healthcare, infrastructure, or mission-critical mechanical projects.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong ability to lead VDC teams and coordinate with project stakeholders.
- Work Environment: Ability to work in a hybrid setup, with on-site presence in Washington, D.C., as needed.
