Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversees and executes drainage design tasks, including technical planning, design development, and construction support.
- Conducts detailed drainage system designs for transportation infrastructure, culverts, stormwater management systems, erosion control measures, and hydraulic structures.
- Performs hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, scour analysis, and sediment transport evaluations.
- Conducts assessments related to dam breach scenarios and inundation analysis.
- Evaluates and compares design alternatives for feasibility and effectiveness.
- Prepares technical documentation, reports, permit applications, and project specifications.
- Provides guidance and mentorship to junior team members in drainage design and modeling.
- Ensures quality assurance and control for designs, calculations, and documentation.
- Develops project proposals and manages project timelines and budgets.
- Builds and maintains professional relationships with colleagues, clients, and industry stakeholders.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure required, with preference for Arizona registration or eligibility for reciprocity.
- Strong background in stormwater management, hydrology, and hydraulic engineering.
- 15-20+ years of experience in drainage infrastructure design and analysis using hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling tools.
- Proficiency in industry-relevant software such as FLO-2D, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D/2D), HEC-6T, MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and HY-8.
- Experience using GIS for data analysis, manipulation, and visualization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Skilled in delivering project presentations and effectively communicating technical concepts.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Adaptability to evolving project requirements and priorities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Must meet background check, drug screening, and driving record requirements in accordance with company policies.
