We are currently leading the search for an experienced safety manager - preferably with experience on large government projects - to lead the safety program for a reputable mechanical contractor in the Baltimore area. Our client is a smaller employee-owned firm that punches above its weight class with large government and industrial projects, and is searching for someone with experience on similar projects or anyone with the right track record on large projects to act as the company-wide safety manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
- Provide safety training and support to employees.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, field staff, and office personnel.
- Travel to job sites as needed to oversee safety practices.
Qualifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CHST certification, and/or equivalent certifications
- OSHA 10hr, 30hr, and 500 or 510 an absolute must
- Experience in managing safety for mechanical projects.
- Strong communication and assertiveness skills.
- Ability to travel within the mid-Atlantic region
- Excellent communication skills, both in the office and on the field.
- Assertive and confident in enforcing safety protocols.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a lean, non-micromanaged environment.
