Electric Utilities Estimator

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various electric utility construction projects, with a focus on substations. This role requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for substation construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop comprehensive estimates. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and complete estimates. Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements. Maintain and update cost databases, historical data, and estimating tools. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project kick-off meetings as needed. Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for clients. Monitor and track project costs to ensure alignment with estimates and budgets. Provide support and guidance to junior estimators and other team members. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in estimating for electric utility construction projects, with a focus on substations. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards. Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar). Experience with Accubid is preferred. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
