Qualifications and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Institution.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Eligible for Professional Engineer registration in Florida.
- Experience in electric power utility system protection.

Essential Functions
- Design and set transmission system protection standards.
- Manage system protection projects.
- Work on green-field and brown-field projects.
- Prepare and verify protection designs and settings.
- Serve as subject matter expert for NERC standards.
- Recommend technology upgrades.
- Review and approve protection scheme designs.
- Develop project specifications and manage RFP process.
- Evaluate bid proposals and recommend successful bidders.
- Review inventory for relay protection components.
- Analyze system disturbances and develop remedial actions.
- Develop substation operating instructions and restoration procedures.
- Represent the company on technical committees.
- Stay updated on new technologies and participate in external organizations.
- Perform NERC Compliance Program roles and retain evidence in audit-ready form.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
