The Opportunity
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing estimates, including lump sum, unit rate, and cost-plus estimates, for a broad range of clients in the energy and infrastructure sectors. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, develop cost-effective solutions, and contribute to the success of large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of conceptual estimates, cost analysis, and coordinate estimate consolidation across multiple disciplines.
Review project scope and develop detailed quantity take-offs.
Conduct productivity analysis, prepare contingency plans, and escalate issues when necessary.
Consolidate separate discipline estimates and perform cost reviews to ensure alignment.
Lead cost review meetings and prepare presentations for senior management.
Assess designs and specifications for cost-effectiveness and suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
Maintain historical cost data and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent industry experience.
6-8+ years of experience in estimating for Substation, Transmission, and Distribution projects.
Field and/or project experience is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
6-8+ years of estimating experience.
Strong knowledge of estimating principles and practices, including conceptual estimating.
Expertise in cost analysis, construction methods, and consulting skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software tools.
Experience with drawing take-off tools such as Bluebeam and On-Screen.
