Job Title: VDC/BIM Coordinator
Location: Dulles, Virginia (Office-based with future hybrid options)
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled VDC/BIM Coordinator to join our team in Dulles, Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a background in Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) to support our innovative projects in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a field electrician and a strong understanding of electrical systems in construction environments.
In this role, you will collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and engineers to manage and implement BIM processes and VDC technology. While this position is based in-office, there will be an option for hybrid work arrangements in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage BIM models: Collaborate with design and construction teams to create and manage accurate BIM models throughout project life cycles.
- Support VDC processes: Integrate VDC technology to streamline project planning, design, and construction workflows, ensuring effective project delivery.
- Perform clash detection and coordination: Identify and resolve clashes between architectural, structural, and MEP systems within BIM models.
- Assist in project planning and scheduling: Use BIM data to assist with construction planning, sequencing, and scheduling.
- Collaborate with field teams: Bridge the gap between office and field operations, utilizing your experience as an electrician to ensure accurate interpretation of models and drawings on site.
- Provide technical support: Assist project teams in using BIM software tools and ensure all stakeholders are aligned on project goals and specifications.
- Maintain BIM standards: Ensure adherence to industry standards, company protocols, and project-specific guidelines for BIM usage.
- Document management: Ensure that all BIM models and related documents are stored, updated, and distributed appropriately.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a field electrician in construction (required).
- 3+ years of experience in VDC/BIM coordination within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with clash detection tools and model-based problem-solving.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems and construction workflows.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work on site and in-office, with potential for hybrid work arrangements in the future.
