Position Overview: They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ecologist & Project Manager to join their dynamic team in Sydney/Newcastle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ecology, project management, and environmental consulting. This role involves leading ecological assessments, managing projects, and providing expert advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and oversee ecological assessments, including flora and fauna surveys, habitat mapping, and biodiversity studies.
- Manage multiple projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
- Prepare and review technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and management plans.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure project requirements are met.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior ecologists and project team members.
- Stay updated with the latest ecological research, methodologies, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in ecological assessments and project management.
- Strong knowledge of NSW environmental legislation and regulations.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in GIS and other ecological assessment tools.
- BAM accreditation is highly desirable.
