Role Overview:
The Senior Digital Water Solutions Strategist will be a key figure in leading the development and delivery of digital solutions that revolutionise water management across municipalities and utilities. With a deep understanding of smart water technologies, you will lead strategic projects that deploy advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), IoT sensors, predictive analytics, and digital platforms. You will work closely with public sector clients to implement innovative solutions that optimise water usage, reduce waste, improve customer experiences, and deliver sustainable, resilient water systems.
In this role, you will provide high-level strategic guidance, oversee project execution, and engage with stakeholders at all levels to ensure the successful integration of smart water solutions. You will also be responsible for advancing sustainability goals through the implementation of digital technologies that support better water resource management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of smart water solutions, focusing on improving water efficiency, conservation, and resilience.
- Advise clients on the integration of digital technologies, such as AMI, smart meters, IoT sensors, and data analytics, into their water systems to drive operational efficiency and cost savings.
- Develop and deliver digital transformation strategies for water utilities, incorporating sustainable water management practices, predictive maintenance, and real-time data analytics.
- Oversee the implementation of large-scale smart water projects, from feasibility studies to project execution, ensuring successful delivery within time and budget constraints.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including municipal leaders, utility managers, and external partners, to foster collaboration and ensure project alignment with client needs.
- Provide expertise in the development of business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and funding strategies to support the adoption of smart water technologies.
- Mentor and lead project teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables and professional growth of team members.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes, ensuring the organisation remains at the cutting edge of smart water solutions.
Key Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the water sector, with a focus on digital transformation, smart water solutions, and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI).
- Proven experience in the deployment of smart water systems, including IoT sensors, smart meters, and data-driven platforms.
- Strong background in water resource management, sustainability, and the integration of digital technologies to optimise utility operations.
- In-depth knowledge of water conservation technologies, including leak detection, pressure modulation, smart pumping, and water quality monitoring.
- Expertise in working with public sector clients, municipalities, and water utilities to design and implement large-scale smart water projects.
- Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, multi-million-pound projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear, actionable strategies for non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and industry best practices related to water management, sustainability, and digital transformation in the water sector.
- Experience with agile methodologies and a collaborative approach to project delivery is a plus.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Water Resources Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
