An international equipment manufacturing company specializing in renewable energy solutions is seeking a Sales Manager for its Wind Energy Department in Taiwan. This individual will play a key role in driving the sales strategy, business development, and customer relations for the company's wind energy products and solutions in the Taiwan market and the broader Asia-Pacific region. The ideal candidate will combine strong sales acumen with technical knowledge in wind energy, electrical engineering, and renewable energy systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development: Create and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet revenue targets for wind energy solutions in Taiwan and the wider Asia-Pacific market.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including energy developers, utilities, and EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) contractors involved in wind energy projects.
- Technical Consultation: Provide technical support and consultations to customers, leveraging a strong understanding of wind energy products, electrical systems, and renewable energy technologies.
- Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the wind energy sector, including prospecting new clients and expanding market share within existing accounts.
- Product Promotion and Education: Lead product presentations, workshops, and seminars to educate potential customers about the company's wind energy solutions, ensuring alignment with client needs and technical requirements.
- Collaboration with Engineering & R&D: Work closely with the engineering and R&D teams to ensure customer feedback is incorporated into product development and improvements. Coordinate on custom product solutions tailored to client specifications.
- Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Develop sales forecasts, track performance against targets, and provide regular updates and detailed reports to senior management regarding sales progress, market conditions, and customer feedback.
- Tender Management: Lead and support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for tenders, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, local regulations, and company standards.
- Market Intelligence: Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities in the wind energy sector to develop strategies that capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field. A Master's degree or an MBA is a plus.
- Experience: At least 5-7 years of sales experience in the renewable energy sector, preferably within the wind energy industry, or in selling technical equipment to energy-related sectors.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of wind energy systems, electrical engineering principles, and the renewable energy value chain. Knowledge of wind turbine technology and grid integration is highly preferred.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (both spoken and written) for communication with international teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Sales Experience: Proven success in driving sales and achieving targets in a technical or engineering-driven environment. Experience managing complex sales cycles, negotiating contracts, and closing deals in the energy sector.
- Regional Knowledge: Familiarity with the Taiwanese energy market, industry regulations, and business practices is a significant advantage.
- Communication & Negotiation Skills: Strong presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information in an accessible manner.
- Customer-Focused: Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into technical solutions while delivering superior customer service.
- Analytical & Reporting Skills: Strong ability to analyze market data, sales trends, and customer feedback to inform decision-making and sales strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry Certifications: Relevant certifications in renewable energy or sales (e.g., LEED, Wind Energy certifications) are a plus.
- Multilingual: Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is an advantage but not required.
- Project Management Experience: Experience in managing or overseeing wind energy projects or technical product installations is beneficial.
