Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist to lead and manage complex geotechnical engineering projects. This senior-level role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership, as you will oversee all stages of projects from initial investigations to final delivery. You will play a key role in ensuring the development and delivery of high-quality, cost-effective solutions for challenging geotechnical issues.
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing clients and stakeholders, ensuring repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and providing strategic advice on geotechnical matters.
- Expand the client base by networking and participating in industry events, conferences, and seminars.
- Contribute to research and development (R&D) initiatives to drive innovation, with a focus on both existing and emerging geotechnical fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all geotechnical projects adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Oversee the delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the client's specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the design and execution of geotechnical aspects of projects, ensuring the successful completion of each project while facilitating future business opportunities.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a collaborative and technically excellent team culture.
- Prepare and review geotechnical reports, feasibility studies, and technical proposals, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and regulations.
Key Qualifications:
- A degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline (Masters or higher preferred).
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia or a Registered Professional Geologist (RPGeo) with the Australian Institute of Geoscientists.
- Registered with the NSW Design and Building Practitioners Scheme 2021 and/or eligible to obtain a TfNSW Accredited Slope Assessor designation.
- A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record of successfully leading complex projects.
- Extensive experience in geotechnical analysis and design, as well as managing geotechnical investigations.
- A comprehensive understanding of Australian geotechnical standards, regulations, and environmental considerations.
