About the Role: In this role, you will design power, lighting, and signal systems for a diverse range of commercial projects including schools, retail spaces, industrial complexes, municipal buildings, healthcare facilities, and more. You'll work closely with Professional Engineers, Engineers-in-Training, and Designers to refine your technical skills and take the lead on impactful projects. You will also have the chance to develop essential professional skills, gaining insights into both the technical and client-facing aspects of electrical engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Select lighting fixtures and control systems to meet energy code compliance.
Design electrical distribution systems from utility sources to customer panelboards and equipment loads.
Prepare cost estimates and specifications.
Conduct studies and generate reports on arc flash, coordination, equipment assessments, and energy efficiency improvements.
Perform photometric analyses of lighting systems.
Utilize power analysis software to calculate voltage drops, short circuit currents, and arc flash boundaries.
Conduct site visits to document existing installations and ensure compliance during renovations and construction.
Coordinate and attend meetings with clients, consultants, owners, and internal team members.
Qualifications:
Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within one year.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills-connections are a critical part of how we work.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Experience with construction drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software such as Bluebeam, AGI-32, and SKM Power.
