My client is seeking for a skilled and detail-oriented Building Enclosure Specialist to join their multidisciplinary team. This role will focus on the design, analysis, and implementation of building enclosures for a wide range of projects. As part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to ensuring that building enclosures are not only structurally sound but also energy-efficient, sustainable, and compliant with all relevant building codes and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Analysis: Develop and review building enclosure systems, including walls, roofs, windows, and doors, ensuring proper integration of materials, thermal performance, and weather resistance.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure enclosures meet project specifications, sustainability goals, and budget requirements.
- Consulting & Technical Support: Provide expert advice on materials, methods, and best practices for the building enclosure, helping clients resolve design and construction challenges.
- Quality Control & Site Oversight: Conduct field inspections and perform on-site quality assurance to ensure proper installation of enclosure systems.
- Energy Efficiency: Incorporate energy-efficient solutions and sustainable building practices to meet or exceed energy performance targets.
- Documentation: Prepare technical reports, specifications, and other documentation to support project milestones and client requirements.
- Compliance & Codes: Stay up-to-date on building codes, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring that enclosures meet all legal and environmental compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5-10+ years) working in building enclosure design or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of building materials, building science, and energy-efficient design principles.
- Familiarity with industry standards and building codes (e.g., ASHRAE, ASTM, NFPA).
- Experience with building simulation software (e.g., EnergyPlus, THERM) and AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and design teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications (e.g., LEED, BECxP, CDT)
- Experience with high-performance or sustainable building projects.
- Knowledge of building envelope testing and commissioning.
