My client is seeking a Water/Wastewater Senior Project Engineer/Manager with 10-20 years of experience. This role involves leading the design, analysis, and planning of water and wastewater projects such as pipelines, pumping stations, and treatment facilities. The ideal candidate will act as a representative for the firm, offering support to clients in the NJ/PA/DE/MD region.
Primary Duties:
- Lead a design team, providing technical support and overseeing QAQC for hydraulic calculations, structure layouts, and system designs.
- Produce reports, proposals, and bidding documents for various water treatment systems, including those for arsenic, radium, iron removal, PFAS, benzene, and other specialty treatments.
- Provide engineering support for inspection teams.
- Represent the firm to municipalities, utility authorities, and private utility companies.
- Draft proposals for new projects.
- Mentor and train junior staff.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
- Proactively identify and resolve project issues.
- Oversee regulatory permitting processes for projects.
Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of water/wastewater equipment.
- Proficient in reading complex construction drawings, specifications, and codes.
- Strong communication and writing skills for reports, specifications, and correspondence.
- Capable of managing both group and individual assignments.
- Experience in mentoring staff and leading project meetings.
- Familiar with NJDEP regulations and compliance.
- Skilled in Microsoft Word/Excel, AutoCAD is a plus.
- Knowledge of public bidding processes is an advantage.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Certifications/Licenses:
- NJPE license required or ability to acquire NJPE reciprocity.
Physical Demands:
- Occasional fieldwork with exposure to weather conditions.
- Prolonged computer use.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
