We are seeking a dedicated Water/Wastewater Project Engineer with over 6 years of experience to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. The ideal candidate will hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license and possess a strong background in designing and delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role emphasizes collaboration, technical excellence, and client satisfaction in the municipal and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Design: Develop detailed designs for water distribution, wastewater collection, treatment systems, and stormwater infrastructure.
- Technical Analysis: Conduct hydraulic modeling, system assessments, and other analyses to ensure optimal project performance.
- Software Utilization: Use tools like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and WaterCAD/SewerCAD for design and analysis; GIS and InfoWater proficiency is a plus.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives and deadlines.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
- Construction Support: Provide technical guidance during construction, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits.
- Client Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients to align designs with their needs and expectations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and specifications to support project delivery.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field.
- Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Indiana or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Experience: At least 6 years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure design and analysis.
- Software Skills:
- Required: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterCAD, SewerCAD.
- Preferred: ArcGIS, InfoWater, StormCAD, SWMM.
- Technical Knowledge: Expertise in water treatment processes, wastewater systems, and infrastructure components.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling and interpret data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Proven success in collaborative team environments, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to team goals.
- Detail-Oriented: Commitment to accuracy and compliance in design work.
