A leading company is seeking an experienced Mechanical VDC Specialist to join its innovative team. This fully remote position provides an excellent opportunity for professionals with a passion for Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) to work on cutting-edge projects. The role involves supporting the design, coordination, and implementation of advanced VDC solutions specifically for mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- VDC Model Management: Develop, maintain, and manage detailed 3D BIM models for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs into collaborative BIM workflows.
- Clash Detection Coordination: Identify, manage, and resolve conflicts within project models, ensuring optimal design efficiency and constructability.
- Project Documentation: Produce shop drawings, as-built documents, and other key project deliverables derived from mechanical BIM models.
- Virtual Coordination: Lead and participate in coordination meetings with project teams using digital collaboration tools to drive decision-making and problem-solving.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of mechanical VDC models to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and detail.
- Technological Adaptation: Research and integrate new VDC methodologies and tools to continuously improve workflows and project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Professional Experience: At least 5 years of experience in mechanical VDC or BIM roles, ideally involving large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
- Software Expertise: Strong proficiency in VDC/BIM tools such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD. Familiarity with project management platforms like Procore is a plus.
- Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems, construction practices, and building regulations.
- Skill Set: Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and analytical abilities, coupled with a keen eye for detail.
- Communication Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating technical details to diverse audiences.
