Partnered with an industry-leading national firm that's been around for over 100 years. They have a strong presence across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast and have started expanding west in hopes to have a coast to coast presence by end of year. They have a dedicated bids team that has a success rate of winning 65% of the bids they place. They're looking for a Highway Technical Leader to bring onto their transportation team in Charlotte, NC.
The ideal candidate will partner with other engineers, planners, designers, and support staff to deliver solutions to Municipal, State, and Federal clients. You will be able to provide oversight and management support to a team of transportation engineers and will primarily be responsible for all aspects of the technical design side of projects. You'll also work closely with VPs and Partners of the firm - which provides a ton of visibility and more room for career growth.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside project managers and design engineers to provide creative solutions and high quality designs
- Lead and contribute to designs on transportation planning and design projects
- Lead and mentor technician and engineering staff
- Coordinates with technical managers from both the client's team and partnering teams
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or similar field
- 8+ years of NCDOT roadway design experience and/or local municipalities
- Expert knowledge in Microstation, Geopak, Inroads, and/or OpenRoads
- Willingness to mentor and teach design team on technical aspects of projects
- Ability to lead complex and traditional road design projects and create a strong technical solution
Preferences:
- PE license in North Carolina or ability to obtain within 6 months
- NCDOT and/or local county or city experience
- Alternative delivery experience is a bonus
