Responsibilities:
- Undertake a range of tasks and projects related to Traffic Operations, Transportation Planning, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and Multimodal and Safety Studies.
- Work on Traffic Impact Studies/EIR documents, General Plan documents, Traffic Calming studies, and Transportation Management Plans.
- Contribute to Safe Routes to School, Pedestrian, and Bicycle projects, Freeway Operations, Traffic Signal Coordination, Traffic Micro-simulation and Macro-simulation Model Developments, Transit Priority, Freeway and Arterial Management Studies, and On-call Services for cities in Northern California.
- Prepare administrative, technical, and statistical reports on traffic operational analyses, such as level of service analysis, traffic signal re-timing, collision analysis, safety measures, and vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle volumes.
- Identify deficiencies and gaps, analyze existing and future conditions, and develop recommendations to improve operations and safety across all transportation modes.
- Apply traffic engineering, operations, and planning principles to the pre-development of large design-build projects, public/private partnerships, and conventional design-bid-build projects.
- Develop models using Synchro, Sidra, HCS, and VISSIM for the operational analysis of freeways, major roads, local roads, and signalized/unsignalized intersections.
- Manage small to large complex projects related to traffic operations, transportation planning, intelligent transportation systems, and multimodal and safety studies, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Coordinate tasks and projects with team members on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Conduct quality checks and peer reviews of work done by other staff.
- Manage tight deadlines and adapt to unexpected requirement changes.
- Oversee multiple projects, anticipate issues, propose solutions, and successfully implement them.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Mentor less experienced staff and oversee project teams in various geographic locations.
- Manage project budgets and interact with clients on assigned projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with +5 years of experience; or a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent for senior positions.
- Must have a current and valid Driver's License.
Skills Desired:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, VISTRO, Synchro, VISSIM, and Microsoft Office Tools.
