Summary
A Senior Transmission Line Engineer is sought to join a growing team, working on the design and installation of high-voltage overhead electric transmission lines. The role will involve collaborating with a team of engineers and utility clients, utilizing industry-standard software to create detailed engineering construction packages. This is a senior-level position requiring a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Support the growth of the transmission engineering team by working closely with utility clients and ensuring that project requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Contribute to client relationship management by delivering high-quality design solutions and providing expert consultation on complex transmission line projects.
Mentoring
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technical staff, sharing knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
- Lead by example in project execution and communication, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Qualifications
Skills
- Proficient in the use of PLS-CADD and PLS Pole for transmission line design.
- Detailed understanding of transmission foundations, hardware, and materials.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, including NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and ACI.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively, working both independently and within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and capability to work in both office and field environments.
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of direct experience in the design of high-voltage overhead transmission lines, with experience in a consultancy preferred.
- Proficiency in reviewing transmission design and construction packages.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Work Environment
The Senior Transmission Line Engineer will be based out of the Tampa, Florida office, with the opportunity to work both in an office and in the field as required by project needs. The role may involve travel for site visits, project meetings, or fieldwork inspections. A valid driver's license is required. Pre-employment drug screening and background checks will be conducted.
