Responsibilities:
Work on high-profile, complex projects for state and local departments of transportation.
Perform traffic safety/operations studies, develop Synchro, SimTraffic, TransModeler, VISSIM, and VISUM models.
Design traffic control devices (signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting), work zone traffic control, ITS, and CAV projects.
Handle projects ranging from small-scale intersection improvements to complex interchange and corridor projects.
Potential client site work and infrequent travel.
Requirements:
BSCE degree required, MSCE preferred.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Certified PTOE preferred.
5-10 years of progressive experience in traffic/ITS engineering.
Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, and Highway Safety Manual.
Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
Proficiency in HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, TransModeler, VISSIM, VISUM.
Strong communication, technical writing, and organizational skills.
Positive attitude and ability to work independently and cooperatively.
Ability to handle multiple projects and manage time effectively.
