Required Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on transportation.
Licensure:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California (Civil and/or Traffic).
Experience:
- At least five years of professional experience in traffic operations, design, or transportation engineering.
Project Management:
- Proven experience managing engineering projects from concept to completion.
Specialized Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge in at least one of the following:
- Traffic Operations:
- Proficient with traffic analysis tools like Synchro, HCS, and/or Vistro, and experienced in completing transportation impact studies.
- Traffic Signal & Design:
- Skilled in designing new or modifying existing traffic signals, as well as devices such as RRFBs, HAWKs, and roundabouts.
- Expertise in preparing signing, striping, and traffic control plans with AutoCAD.
- Familiar with developing specifications and cost estimates.
- Traffic Operations:
- In-depth knowledge in at least one of the following:
Communication Skills:
- Strong writing abilities for both technical documentation and non-technical reports.
Desired Qualifications:
Leadership:
- Experience in training and supervising staff.
Communication & Public Engagement:
- Excellent communication skills, including client interactions, presentations at public meetings, and workshop facilitation.
Regional Experience:
- Familiarity with transportation engineering in Northern California.
Business Development:
- Experience in marketing services and preparing proposals for new projects.
Funding & Grants:
- Knowledge of transportation funding processes and experience preparing grant applications.
Technical Software Proficiency:
- Working knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, VISSIM, and other traffic operations analysis tools.
