Join an employee-owned civil consultant seeking an experienced and highly motivated Traffic Discipline Lead. This leadership role will guide the traffic engineering practice companywide, manage a team of talented engineers across multiple offices, and provide technical expertise on transportation projects. This role can be based out of our Spokane, WA, Salt Lake City, UT, or Boise, ID offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the traffic engineering technical practice/discipline across all geographies and offices.
- Serve as a senior technical resource for traffic studies, operations analyses, and designs.
- Oversee and manage traffic engineering deliverables, including Quality Control/Quality Assurance.
- Conduct and supervise traffic operations analyses for intersections and corridors.
- Lead signal timing optimizations and develop signal timing plans for roadway networks.
- Support and lead travel demand modeling methodologies and supervise related staff.
- Represent clients in public meetings and conduct project meetings.
- Mentor and coach traffic engineering staff, including PE's, EIT's, and junior engineers.
- Recommend training opportunities to develop technical staff.
- Lead business development efforts for transportation planning and traffic engineering pursuits.
- Develop scopes of work, contracts, schedules, and budgets for traffic-related projects.
- Support broader marketing and business development initiatives for transportation design projects.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; Master's Degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license and Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification.
- 15-20 years of progressive traffic/transportation engineering experience.
- Expertise with HCS, Synchro, Sidra, Cube, Vistro, Visum, and Vissim.
- Proven leadership in mentoring staff, managing project schedules, and ensuring quality deliverables.
- Strong ability to collaborate across offices and disciplines.
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
