The Technical Director will be responsible for overseeing the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation activities for offshore wind projects. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in project management, offshore construction, and a deep understanding of the offshore wind industry. The EPCI Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of offshore wind projects, adhering to safety standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project execution strategies, ensuring alignment with the company's overall business goals and objectives.
- Establish project scopes, objectives, and deliverable, and set realistic timelines and milestones.
- Oversee the engineering team's activities, ensuring the technical feasibility and accuracy of project designs and plans.
- Monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to meet quality standards.
- Work closely with the procurement team to identify and select reliable suppliers and vendors for project materials and equipment.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective solutions.
- Lead and supervise the construction and installation teams, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to optimize construction processes and mitigate risks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- Proven track record of at least 10 years in project management within the offshore wind or renewable energy sector.
- Extensive experience in managing EPCI projects, preferably in the offshore wind industry.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles and offshore construction processes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving project-related challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and international offices, as needed.
