We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Transmission and Substation Construction Superintendent in Texas to oversee and manage the construction and installation of transmission lines and substations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical infrastructure projects, excellent leadership skills, and a keen ability to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Supervise and coordinate all construction activities for transmission and substation projects.
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion and adherence to deadlines.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet project goals.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor construction crews, subcontractors, and other personnel.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on-site, maintaining a productive and positive work environment.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all construction work is performed in accordance with engineering specifications, industry standards, and local codes.
- Perform inspections and quality checks to guarantee work meets or exceeds required standards.
- Address and rectify any quality issues promptly.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage project budgets and control costs by tracking expenses and making cost-effective decisions.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Oversee resource allocation and optimize the use of manpower and materials.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including environmental and safety regulations.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports, including updates on schedule, budget, and any issues encountered.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all project activities, including changes and approvals.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Liaise with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns.
- Facilitate effective communication between all parties involved in the project.
- Represent the company in meetings and public interactions related to the project.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in transmission and substation construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, PMP) are preferred.
