We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer/Design Lead to join a growing, 100% employee owned firm. This full-time position will be based in the Madison, Wisconsin area. This position will play a key role in leading structural engineering projects, including the design, management, and oversight of infrastructure work primarily for public clients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform structural designs using both manual calculations and software tools
- Prepare construction plans and specifications that meet all relevant codes
- Manage construction administration, including site inspections as needed
- Assist with technical reports, cost estimates, and design drafting
- Conduct bridge inspections and load ratings, with occasional travel
- Collaborate with other disciplines and support project management
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering - Structural focus; Master's preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure in WI and MN within 6 months
- Minimum 4 years of structural engineering experience, preferably in bridge design and public infrastructure
- Proficient in AutoDesk or Bentley design software
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team
