As a Cost Engineer, you will:
- Deliver clear, data-driven insights into project health, risks, and opportunities to enhance project outcomes.
- Communicate compelling, data-supported recommendations to cross-functional teams.
- Provide visibility into key project priorities, performance metrics, and benchmarks throughout the lifecycle of projects and events.
- Manage and predict the financial outcomes of projects or operational events.
- Help design fit-for-purpose control structures that ensure operational reliability.
- Oversee management of change during engineering and execution phases.
- Drive innovation to create competitive advantages across Flint Hills Resources.
- Share knowledge and collaborate effectively with peers at other locations.
- Embrace and implement new technologies.
- Identify and propose re-imagined business processes as part of ongoing transformation initiatives.
- Be open to occasional travel (up to 10%).
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- At least 3 years of experience as a Cost Analyst or Cost Engineer managing projects or turnarounds, or a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management.
- Strong skills in communicating insights and recommendations through data-driven storytelling.
- Proven ability to drive organizational change using technology.
- Experience developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) or Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) and translating estimates into budgets.
- Experience leading project control meetings.
