Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a variety of building repair and renovation projects.
- Collaborate with other engineers, architects and contractors to ensure timely and quality completion of all projects.
- Carry out site investigations and inspections, assessing structural conditions, recommending repairs, improvements and renovations.
- Prepare reviews, reports and presentations detailing relevant engineering solutions to key clients.
- Remain up-to-date with changes and developments in building codes, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance on all projects.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers and contractors.
Requirements
- Structural design and inspection for building systems including: commercial, industrial, residential and education.
- Project management, report writing and review
- Understanding of building codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient with all relevant design software.
- Ohio PE license
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to go on roofs, climb ladders, go in crawl spaces, and go in attics.
- 5+ years industry experience
