Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Site Acquisition Manager with a focus on data center development to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate, with a proven track record of success in acquiring sites for data center projects, managing multiple assignments simultaneously, demonstrating exceptional sales skills in the tech infrastructure sector, and seeing projects through from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and acquire suitable sites for data center development projects, considering factors such as location, access to power and network infrastructure, zoning regulations, and environmental considerations.
- Negotiate land acquisition deals with property owners, developers, and other stakeholders, ensuring favourable terms and conditions
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence activities, including site assessments, environmental impact studies, and permitting requirements.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, overseeing the site acquisition process from initial site identification through to project initiation, construction, and completion.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including development, engineering, legal, and finance, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with brokers, landowners, government officials, and other key stakeholders in the data center industry.
- Stay abreast of market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting data center development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of [5] years of experience in site acquisition, real estate development, or related field, with a focus on data center projects.
- Proven track record of successfully acquiring sites for data center development projects, with a deep understanding of the unique requirements and challenges of the industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to close complex real estate deals effectively.
- Exceptional organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of zoning regulations, land use planning, environmental permitting, and real estate law as they pertain to data center development.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and real estate software (e.g., CoStar, LoopNet).
