Senior Structural Engineer- Onsite Energy and Power

Position Overview: The Senior Structural Engineer will oversee and guide project teams in the structural design of new builds, renovations, and redevelopments across various sectors, including power, corporate, healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities. This role involves leading projects from design through construction, ensuring plans align with budget, design specifications, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead structural design efforts from conceptual stages to design completion, meeting project specifications and requirements.
- Develop structural equipment documentation such as specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid evaluations, and purchase recommendations.
- Review vendor drawings and coordinate data exchange with suppliers, clients, and other engineering teams.
- Contribute to project scheduling, scope definition, budgeting, and construction planning, managing change orders effectively.
- Apply expert knowledge of structural engineering concepts, industry practices, codes, and standards to complex projects, offering innovative design solutions.
- Conduct quality reviews of project drawings and data to ensure accuracy and compliance across various CAD platforms.
- Oversee construction administration, coordinating with field teams to address installation issues and conducting field investigations as needed.
- Lead field investigations, including measurements and calculations, for both public and private sector clients.
- Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations to clients.
- Build and maintain strong client, contractor, and partner relationships while pursuing new business opportunities and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Engage in sales and marketing activities and identify strategic pursuits.
- Lead the preparation of design cost proposals, qualification documents, and project budget reports.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced engineers, fostering professional development within the team.
- Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes and maintain effective cross-disciplinary communication.
- Comply with company and site safety policies.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program with FE exam completion.
- A Master's degree in Structural Engineering is advantageous.
- Minimum of 7 years of structural engineering experience, with a preference for EPC project involvement.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of structural design codes (e.g., IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE7) and standard engineering practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Experience managing large project designs and delegating tasks to team members effectively.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to facilitate and collaborate within teams.
- Ability to conduct quality reviews of detailed engineering documents and specifications.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
