Position Summary: Our client is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design for renewable energy power generation projects and manage grid-connection studies. This role is integral to delivering renewable project outcomes across various sustainable energy infrastructure projects. This is a ground floor opportunity in an established 25-year electrical engineering business to build the renewable electrical design and grid connections capability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical design for large-scale wind, solar, BESS, and hybrid projects.
- Develop technical specifications and support early-stage development activities.
- Manage R1 and R2 grid-connection studies for NEM projects.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and best practices.
- Consult with OEMs, network service providers, and AEMO.
Project Management:
- Define project scopes and deliver work packages within budgets.
- Ensure safe and timely project delivery.
- Manage changes to scope, time, and budget.
- Monitor progress and provide informative reporting.
Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering; post-graduate qualifications are a plus.
- RPEV or CPEng, NER registration.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and AEMO's grid connection process.
- Experience in renewable projects at various design stages.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
- Knowledge of NEM operations and commercial acumen.
