Overview: Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Roadway Project Manager / Practice Builder in California. This leadership role will be responsible for overseeing and managing the successful delivery of complex transportation projects, with a focus on roadway design and construction. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in transportation engineering, strong project management skills, and a passion for driving results on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage roadway design and transportation projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget compliance.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project alignment and adherence to specifications.
- Provide technical expertise in roadway design, including geometric design, traffic analysis, drainage design, and environmental compliance.
- Oversee and mentor junior project managers and engineering staff to promote professional development and project success.
- Prepare and review project proposals, budgets, schedules, and reports.
- Manage project teams and resources, ensuring proper allocation and utilization to meet project goals.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including permitting, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
- Identify business development opportunities and assist with proposal preparation and client presentations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California or the ability to obtain within a specified time frame.
- 10+ years of experience in transportation engineering with a focus on roadway design and project management.
- Proven experience managing large-scale transportation projects, including federal, state, and local roadway designs.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and working collaboratively with clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and regulatory agencies.
