Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Management Consultant to join our team. This role involves representing clients on-site, managing project documentation, and ensuring the quality and timeliness of project deliverables. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction, with a background in various sectors such as federal, state, municipal, educational facilities, or transportation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Representation: Serve as the client's on-site representative, overseeing project progress and liaising with stakeholders.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation including cost estimates, schedules, and plan reviews.
- Record Evaluation: Review project records, schedules, and as-built construction to assess and manage change orders and time extensions.
- Problem Solving: Apply technical techniques and methods to independently resolve issues and analyze project challenges.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines, managing workload fluctuations as needed.
- Training & Development: Participate in training and company activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks and other duties as assigned to support project and team operations.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bluebeam, and CADD.
- Project Management Tools: Ability to utilize and learn electronic project management tools and systems.
- Project Controls: Skilled in developing, tracking, and communicating project controls and reports.
- Team Collaboration: Capable of working effectively within a team and independently on project assignments.
- Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain industry-specific certifications as required.
- Plan Interpretation: Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to evaluate solutions and develop creative problem-solving approaches.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to focus on detailed tasks and summarize findings effectively for project team leaders.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Capability: Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor and uneven terrain settings.
Education and Knowledge:
- Degree: Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- Licensing: Professional License may be required; Consultant title used until licensing is obtained.
- Certifications: FE/EIT preferred; OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification required or to be obtained within 3 months.
- Knowledge Base: Understanding of construction management principles, project controls, and various project management methodologies.
- Mathematical Skills: Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and statistics.
- Language Proficiency: Strong command of the English language, including grammar and composition.
- Project Management Systems: Familiarity with electronic Project Management information systems is preferred.
