A leading EPC is looking for a Project Director to support a portfolio of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) projects. In this role, you will be tasked with independently representing our company in all aspects of project prospecting, proposal development, contract negotiation, securing, and project execution. This role is the primary point of contact for customers throughout the lifecycle of each project. The position also involves leading, mentoring, and developing Project Coordinators, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Managers.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:**
- Collaborate with Business Development to create project estimates and schedules for proposals, present them to current and potential clients, nurture existing client relationships, and assist in acquiring new customers.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts or amendments, ensuring that profit margins are maintained. Responsibilities include finalizing all contract details, such as pricing, delivery, scope, insurance, taxes, payment terms, and penalties.
- Oversee the management, interpretation, and enforcement of ongoing customer contracts.
- Ensure consistent communication with clients, keeping them fully informed about project progress. Lead regular project meetings.
- Serve as the central source of project information for clients, maintaining deep knowledge of all technical, cost-related, and scheduling aspects.
- Oversee key project activities under the client's responsibility, including building design, construction, vendor coordination, and equipment deliveries.
- Manage customer invoicing and authorization.
- Approve detailed project schedules, scopes of work, and budgets in line with the company's cost accounting systems.
- Ensure the availability and allocation of necessary resources for each project.
- Manage the selection and coordination of subcontractors, including engineers, consultants, fabricators, and administrative support.
- Supervise the bidding process for subcontractors to secure the best possible pricing.
- Negotiate and approve subcontract terms and amendments.
- Manage and enforce all subcontract terms and conditions.
- Monitor and authorize all project-related expenditures.
- Review and compare monthly project cost forecasts against the project's budget, and report on cost projections.
- Ensure project schedules are adhered to and enforced, meeting all client-established deadlines.
- Monitor and manage external activities that may impact project schedules.
- Ensure that the project team fully understands and accepts the contracted scope of work.
- Maintain open communication with the project team and manage input from all resource groups.
- Train, develop, and mentor Project Coordinators, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Managers.
- Allocate sufficient time in project schedules to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Uphold the company's quality standards and ethical practices.
- Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all support resources on the project.
- Travel domestically and internationally for 10-25% of the year, with trips lasting up to four weeks.
- Regularly travel between headquarters in St. Louis, MO, and the manufacturing facility in Red Bud, IL.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employees across all locations.
- Ensure compliance with safety and company standards in all work activities.
- Foster a positive work environment to achieve organizational goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:**
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience, with at least five years in a Senior Project Manager or similar role, is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of three years of direct employee management experience is required.
- A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
- An active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred.
- Proven experience in strategic and tactical goal setting and achieving.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent presentation abilities.
- Strong organizational, leadership, negotiation, and delegation capabilities.
- Ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with a diverse range of individuals in both one-on-one and group settings.
- Demonstrated ability to build long-lasting, positive customer relationships by focusing on customer satisfaction and earning trust.
- Solid financial background with experience in operations budget development, cost control, and capital spending justification
