A renewable shop that focuses on originating, developing, constructing, operating, and optimizing large-scale solar and solar-plus-storage projects in the U.S is looking to bring on a Project Development Manager.

Position Overview
The Project Development Manager will oversee the development of large-scale solar, solar-plus-storage, and standalone energy storage projects across the United States, with a specific focus on projects within a key U.S. energy market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the advancement of newly initiated greenfield sites and existing mid-to-late-stage projects to the point of construction approval by managing vendors and coordinating internal and external resources throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee real estate negotiations, agreements, and maintain long-term relationships with landowners.
- Conduct assessments of project sites to identify critical issues early in the development process, ensuring they are addressed before significant expenditures.
- Lead efforts to obtain necessary permits from local, state, and federal authorities, while managing agreements related to project siting and tax considerations.
- Assist with project budgeting, scheduling, and strategic planning.
- Coordinate tasks according to budget and timelines, managing resources for engineering and grid interconnection processes.
- Collaborate with legal, marketing, and government affairs teams.
- Evaluate the financial feasibility of projects in collaboration with the corporate finance department.
- Participate in preparing responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the company in interactions with customers, landowners, government officials, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in taking large-scale solar projects from early-stage development through to construction approval.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on communication and relationship-building.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines without compromising quality.
- Ability to work autonomously or in a team setting, depending on the task.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, finance, or energy is preferred. Advanced qualifications like an MBA, CFA, or similar credentials are highly valued.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in energy project development, ideally focused on renewable energy technologies like solar, wind, or energy storage systems.
- A strong understanding of the full development lifecycle for major power projects.
- Experience managing community relations, as well as negotiations with utilities and landowners.
- Familiarity with U.S. energy markets, interconnection processes, and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
- Strong project management abilities, including adaptability to dynamic changes.
