We are currently partnering up with a leading offshore wind developer to hire a highly skilled Onshore Substation Manager. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the operation and maintenance of critical onshore substation infrastructure for cutting-edge offshore wind projects. The successful candidate will have the chance to contribute to the growth of a sustainable energy future while working alongside a team of experts in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement O&M strategies for Onshore Substation transmission assets and electrical equipment.
- Manage and execute all O&M activities, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Lead and oversee subcontractors, technical teams, and repair activities, ensuring timely and effective maintenance.
- Monitor and review technical proposals, recommending improvements and managing operational risks.
- Support the O&M Manager in daily operations, including scheduling, emergency response, and unscheduled maintenance.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, contractors, and service providers to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and maintain high operational readiness.
Qualifications & Key Skills
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with HV/MV certification.
- Extensive experience in O&M within offshore wind, oil and gas, or electrical transmission industries.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety, asset integrity management, and structural design principles.
- Proficient in asset information systems and data management processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain business relationships.
- Proactive, organized, and able to work independently with a strong focus on safety and quality.
Other requirements:
- Background in Offshore EPC projects and operational start-up of offshore wind farms (minimum 2 projects).
- GWO training.
- Training and certification in Safe Systems of Works.
- IT proficiency within the Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to quickly learn software tools.
- Profound knowledge of operational processes in wind farms.
- Solid technical understanding of the full wind farm asset lifecycle (WTG, Cables, ONS, OSS, Foundation) and the interdependencies of sub-assets.
