Municipal Project Engineer
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Seeking a skilled Civil Engineer with 5+ years of professional experience to oversee and design a range of public and private infrastructure projects. This individual will work closely with leadership to support community-focused initiatives, including transportation systems, utilities, public facilities, and private development plans.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Serve as the primary liaison for one or more municipal or public agency clients, acting as the key point of contact to ensure client needs are met.
-Develop and execute engineering solutions to enhance and sustain community infrastructure.
-Design transportation systems, utility networks, facilities, or hydraulic structures utilizing advanced design software.
-Perform calculations related to load capacities, grading, fluid dynamics, and material stress to establish design parameters.
-Estimate material quantities, equipment, and labor costs to assess project feasibility.
-Analyze geographic and structural data, including maps, drawings, and topographic information.
-Conduct environmental and traffic impact studies to identify and address engineering challenges.
-Ensure all designs align with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
-Identify potential environmental concerns and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
-Attend public meetings on behalf of municipal clients to present project updates, proposals, and findings.
-Provide technical guidance on project modifications and construction strategies.
-Support field inspection staff through data analysis, shop drawing review, and client coordination.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
-Preferred experience in municipal engineering or related fields.
-Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations effectively.
-Analytical and problem-solving capabilities to collect data, draw conclusions, and share findings.
-Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
-Proficient in computer-aided design tools.
-Demonstrates the ability to collaborate within teams and independently.
REQUIREMENTS:
-Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
-Professional Engineering (PE) license in Pennsylvania is mandatory.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-May occasionally perform fieldwork, potentially encountering variable outdoor conditions.
-Work involves extensive computer use and may include lifting items up to 25 pounds.
-Must possess a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
