As a Solid Waste Engineer you will play a vital role in designing, managing, and optimizing solid waste management systems to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainable waste solutions. You will work on a wide range of projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to innovative waste management solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for solid waste management projects.
- Design and implement waste collection and disposal systems.
- Develop landfill design plans and oversee landfill construction and operation.
- Evaluate and recommend waste recycling and recovery technologies.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Provide technical expertise and support to project teams.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and project proposals.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in solid waste management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in solid waste engineering.
- Landfill gas management, air compliance, and landfill design and permitting is required.
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, landfill modeling software).
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to environmental sustainability and waste reduction.
