Job Summary:
The Licensed Site Professional (LSP) will serve as a technical leader and primary point of contact for clients on a variety of environmental projects. With a minimum of 10 years of experience, the LSP will lead site investigations, remedial activities, and environmental compliance efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in environmental site assessment and remediation, along with the ability to manage client relationships, guide junior staff, and ensure projects meet regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Oversee and manage environmental site assessments, remediation projects, and regulatory compliance efforts from start to finish. Ensure all projects are executed in accordance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Client Engagement: Serve as the primary client contact, providing technical expertise, project updates, and strategic recommendations. Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure repeat business and client satisfaction.
- Technical Oversight: Lead site investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, and remediation activities. Provide expert technical guidance and troubleshooting for environmental issues.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) or applicable state-specific guidelines. Prepare and submit regulatory reports, including risk assessments, closure documents, and remediation plans.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and provide technical direction to junior staff. Review and approve reports, proposals, and project deliverables to maintain high-quality standards.
- Business Development: Support business development efforts by identifying new project opportunities, participating in proposals, and contributing to the growth of the environmental services division.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage potential project risks, ensuring proactive solutions and maintaining project timelines and budgets.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as an LSP or in a similar environmental role, with a strong background in site assessment, remediation, and environmental compliance.
- Proven experience managing complex environmental projects, including handling client relationships and leading technical teams.
- Licensing/Certifications:
- Active Massachusetts LSP license is required.
- Additional certifications (e.g., Professional Geologist, CHMM) are a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong technical expertise in environmental site investigation, remediation technologies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information in an accessible and professional manner.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including mentoring staff and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong project management skills, including budget and schedule management.
- Proficient in environmental assessment tools and software (e.g., GIS, CADD, environmental modeling software).
