Director of Land Development Opportunity

About the Role
As the Director of Land Development, you will play a pivotal role in leading the department's operations, including business development, project scope, scheduling, contracts, quality control, budgeting, staffing, and employee growth. This role offers the opportunity to drive business growth in the Florida market with the support of a robust and experienced organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Vice President of Development Operations.
- Manage, mentor, and motivate project team members to ensure performance and career growth.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and revenue targets, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Foster effective relationships with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing recommendations to improve departmental procedures and practices.
- Collaborate with senior project managers to address issues related to staffing, quality, or productivity.
- Represent the firm at conferences, events, and industry councils, contributing to business development and client recruitment efforts.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- District of Columbia Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with a focus on land development.
- 5+ years of project management experience, including staff supervision and development.
- Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawings and legal documents.
- Demonstrates sound engineering principles and problem-solving skills.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to seek out and develop new business opportunities.
- Skilled in implementing departmental policies and managing multidisciplinary projects.
- Collaborative team leader with exceptional interpersonal skills.
