About the Role:
The company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Engineering and Design to lead its engineering and design teams across its renewable energy projects, with a strong focus on solar and wind energy. This senior role is based in Singapore and requires a proven track record in managing engineering design functions within the renewable energy sector. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory bodies to ensure the successful design, development, and execution of renewable energy projects globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering and design teams for the company's renewable energy projects, focusing on both solar and wind energy technologies.
- Oversee all engineering design activities from initial concept to final implementation, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company objectives.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions for large-scale renewable energy projects.
- Provide strategic direction for the design and integration of new renewable energy technologies, ensuring alignment with the company's long-term sustainability goals.
- Develop and implement engineering design processes and workflows to streamline project delivery and enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project management, procurement, and construction to ensure that designs are implemented effectively.
- Act as the technical lead on key projects, addressing complex engineering challenges and providing innovative solutions.
- Ensure the integration of advanced engineering technologies, innovations, and best practices in renewable energy design.
- Mentor and develop engineering and design teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and high-performance standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global trends, regulations, and technological advancements in renewable energy engineering and design.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering and design, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role within the renewable energy industry (solar and wind experience highly preferred).
- Strong experience with engineering design processes, particularly in the context of large-scale renewable energy projects.
- Proven track record in managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams and complex projects in the renewable energy sector.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant engineering standards, regulations, and safety practices within the renewable energy industry.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical technical decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies is a plus.
- Experience in working in international or multi-location teams is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the financial, environmental, and regulatory aspects of renewable energy projects.
