We're working with a local engineering firm based in Colorado who are looking for a Junior Forensic Structural Engineer to join their team. This position offers the flexibility to work 100% remotely while being based in Colorado.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate structural failures and damages caused by natural disasters, construction defects, and material issues.
- Conduct site assessments (as needed) and analyze data to determine the root cause of structural issues.
- Prepare detailed forensic reports for legal, insurance, and property owner clients.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project teams on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Review construction plans, building codes, and technical documents to provide expert recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
- EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months; PE track preferred.
- 2-5 years of structural engineering experience; forensic or failure analysis experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing multiple projects.
