A global engineering consultancy firm is looking for a Fire Protection Engineer in Seoul, South Korea. We are looking at candidates between 7-20 years of relevant experience (Seniority to be advised).
Key Responsibilities:
- System Design and Analysis: Develop detailed plans and specifications for fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, suppression systems, and smoke control systems. Conduct comprehensive analyses to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Project Management: Lead fire protection projects from conception to completion, overseeing all aspects of design, procurement, installation, and testing. Coordinate with architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure seamless execution and timely delivery.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential fire hazards and vulnerabilities in buildings and infrastructure. Develop mitigation strategies and recommend appropriate fire protection measures to enhance safety and minimize risks.
- Technical Expertise: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in fire protection engineering. Apply advanced engineering principles and simulation tools to optimize system performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate project requirements, address technical challenges, and achieve consensus on design solutions. Communicate effectively with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and facilitate approvals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Fire and Disaster Prevention or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
- Proficiency in relevant 3D modelling tools such as Sketch Up, 3D Max Modeling, Revit etc
- Experienced in Mechanical Fire Protection Systems / Engineering Products
- Strong understanding of building and fire codes, standards, and regulations, including NFPA, IBC, and KSFPE.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven track record of collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluency in Korean and English languages, both written and verbal.
