We are seeking a Designer with an ABET accredited engineering degree and 2-5 years of experience in the construction industry, working on a variety of projects such as primary and secondary schools, industrial complexes, office buildings, healthcare facilities, and other commercial buildings. The role focuses on designing electrical power, low voltage, and lighting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design electrical power, low voltage, and lighting systems, including lighting controls, power distribution, power device layout, emergency generation, circuiting, fire alarm systems, data systems, intercommunication systems, and other low voltage systems.
- Create and document design plans and specifications using Autodesk, AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Conduct surveys of existing buildings undergoing renovations and attend design meetings to facilitate the design process.
- Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFI) during the bidding/pricing and construction phases.
- Review shop drawings during construction.
- Visit construction sites to address potential conflicts and participate in punch list walkthroughs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- Engineer In Training (EIT) Certification.
- 2-5 years of experience working under a Professional Engineer in the building industry, with the intention to pursue a Professional Engineering License.
- Strong understanding of the building design, bidding, and construction process.
- Proficiency in Autodesk, AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with co-workers, architects, and building owners.
