Job Title: Contract Manager
The position involves working closely with various internal teams and external parties, including stakeholders and contractors, to manage and oversee all project contracts from start to finish. Responsibilities include defining and negotiating contract terms, managing client relations, and overseeing project performance metrics, schedules, risk profiles, and cost performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of tender documentation and other critical milestones in line with bid strategies and competitive process guidelines.
- Develop and execute strategies for bidding on large-scale solar and wind projects.
- Assist with obtaining necessary permits and jurisdictional approvals for project construction.
- Demonstrate expertise in contract management and negotiation, including experience with contract specifications, contractor selection, and project insurance.
- Review and manage contractor schedules, budgets, scopes, sub-contractors, safety plans, and permit compliance.
- Coordinate with contractors and equipment vendors to ensure compliance with contract terms and timely delivery of project deliverable within budget and schedule.
- Conduct on-site inspections as needed to ensure quality control and safe construction practices, and coordinate with third-party firms if required.
- Lead or facilitate project status meetings with utilities, contractors, off-takers, and financial counterparts, providing detailed project plans and high-level status updates.
- Manage the organization and filing of all project documentation for internal use and external stakeholders, including for project financing needs.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in fields such as Law, Legal Studies, Commerce, Project Management, or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) from an accredited institution.
Experience:
- Approximately 5 years of experience in contract management or a legal role within a construction or project management environment. Experience in renewable energy is a plus.
- Familiarity with large-scale wind and solar projects is advantageous.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to prepare detailed correspondence and deliver clear briefings to stakeholders.
- Excellent negotiation skills for resolving disputes and finalizing contractual terms with suppliers and clients.
