Job Overview: Our team is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to join their engineering division. In this role, you will be responsible to act as an SME for all civil/structural related matters when it comes to design & construction oversight for systems. As our current in-house SME team is smaller, this is a great opportunity for any civil/structural engineers that are eager to move more into a Senior/Team Lead role with opportunity to grow into management and even support the growth of an in-house team.
This position will report into our North Carolina office, with flexibility to sit 100% remote (candidates must be based in CST or EST for meeting purposes) or if preferred, hybrid work schedule. Current team is currently scattered across the Mid-Atlantic/Southeast with choice of remote or local to an office. Remote candidates must be willing to travel to site visits if hired remotely. Compensation will be based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the organization as the civil/structural SME for utility-scale & commercial solar projects across the South East/Mid-Atlantic portfolio.
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, engineering & design review.
- Put together technical reports & documentation for projects while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations are met.
- Review external consultants work, collaborate with project managers, developers, and other engineers.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4-5 years of civil or structural engineering.
- Four year bachelors degree in engineering.
- Previous renewable energy project experience (at least 1-2 projects).
- Proficiency in applicable software & tools.
- Excellent communication skills & willingness to learn.
