Our client, a respected civil engineering and land development firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is seeking a talented CAD Technician to join their team. This role offers an exciting chance to work on diverse projects across the infrastructure and development markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and Design: Develop detailed CAD drawings for site layouts, grading, utilities, roadways, and other civil engineering projects.
- Surface Modeling: Create and refine terrain surfaces, manage contours, and perform surface analysis.
- Grading and Drainage: Prepare grading plans and drainage solutions for complex sites, including commercial developments and residential subdivisions.
- Utility Networks: Design water, sewer, and stormwater systems; create accurate pipe networks and manage connectivity within CAD.
- Alignment and Profile Generation: Generate alignments for roadways and utilities, create profiles, and ensure accuracy in grade and elevation data.
- Volume Calculations: Perform cut/fill analysis and volume calculations to optimize earthworks and material use.
- Cross-Sections: Develop cross-sectional views for roadways, grading, and utilities to assist with construction planning and documentation.
- Project Collaboration: Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure design accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proficient in Civil3D, AutoCAD, and other relevant CAD software.
- 3+ years in civil drafting/design
- Ability to produce accurate, detailed drawings and maintain project quality standards.
- Strong team collaboration skills; ability to work with engineers, project managers, and other technical staff.
After an initial 90-day period in-office, the position can be remote, with local candidates preferred.
