We are seeking an experienced Electrical BIM/VDC Manager to lead and oversee Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) initiatives for data center projects in Virginia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design and construction, coupled with proven expertise in BIM/VDC methodologies and tools. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient coordination, design, and delivery of complex electrical systems within data center environments.
Key Responsibilities
- BIM/VDC Leadership: Manage and coordinate all aspects of BIM/VDC workflows for electrical systems on data center projects.
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Modeling Oversight: Develop, review, and manage detailed 3D models of electrical systems using platforms such as Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM tools.
- Quality Control: Ensure all models meet project requirements, industry standards, and client expectations.
- Clash Detection: Identify and resolve conflicts through clash detection and coordination with other trades.
- Training & Mentorship: Train and mentor team members in BIM/VDC best practices, tools, and workflows.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement BIM/VDC standards, templates, and processes to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
- Documentation: Create and maintain accurate documentation for models, workflows, and project deliverables.
- Technology Integration: Stay current with advancements in BIM/VDC tools and technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical design or construction, with at least 3 years in a BIM/VDC leadership role.
- Proven track record working on data center projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other industry-standard tools.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and their integration into data center environments.
- Familiarity with clash detection and resolution processes.
