We are seeking a detail-oriented BIM/VDC Coordinator to support Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) efforts on data center projects in Virginia. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with BIM software, excellent collaboration skills, and a strong understanding of construction processes, particularly within electrical systems. This role ensures that BIM/VDC deliverables align with project requirements, enabling seamless design and construction coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Model Development: Create, update, and maintain detailed 3D models of electrical systems using Revit and other BIM tools.
- Coordination: Collaborate with project teams, including engineers, architects, and subcontractors, to ensure accurate model integration and coordination between trades.
- Clash Detection: Conduct clash detection using Navisworks or similar software and work with stakeholders to resolve conflicts.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain BIM documentation, including model data, design changes, and coordination drawings.
- Support BIM Standards: Adhere to and enforce company and project-specific BIM standards and workflows.
- Technology Utilization: Leverage BIM tools to enhance visualization, planning, and construction sequencing.
- Quality Assurance: Review and validate models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
- Process Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to BIM workflows and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in BIM/VDC coordination, preferably in electrical design or construction.
- Experience with data center or mission-critical projects is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and their integration into building designs.
- Familiarity with clash detection, resolution processes, and model management.
