Aviation Project Manager
Company Summary: This company's Marietta, GA, St. Augustine FL, and Macon, GA offices have an excellent opportunity for an Civil Project Manager. They will oversee development of a wide range of aviation-focused planning, airside, and landside projects at general aviation and commercial service airports throughout the southeast U.S. Projects include all aspects of airport development, including aviation civil design (site layout, storm water management, utility design, etc.), master planning, and construction administration. .
Responsibilities/Opportunities:
- Lead and manage an interdisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and planners throughout the concept development and design phases, including the production of construction drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports for permit agency (FAA, DOT) approval.
- Assist clients by providing comprehensive bid phase and construction phase services.
- Develop and periodically update the 5-year capital improvement program for aviation clients.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, technical workshops, and professional trade organization meetings.
- Work with the company's leadership and marketing teams to implement business development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- PE license required.
- Well-versed in FAA, GDOT, and FDOT procedures, standards, and regulations.
- Ability and passion for developing and mentoring junior team members.
- Effective communication and technical writing skills.
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle.
- Ability to travel to project sites and client meetings, with occasional overnight stays.
- Ability to obtain Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge required, including Federal background check (with clear record).
Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in site development and/or transportation planning, design, permitting, and construction.
- Aviation experience a plus.
- Preparing construction plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and construction cost estimates.
- Coordinating the project bid process, including conducting the bid opening and preparing a bid tabulation.
- Performing construction administration tasks, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to contractor RFIs, reviewing pay applications, and managing construction observation and materials testing team members.
- Coordinating and conducting meetings for small- and large-scale projects, including pre-bid, pre-construction, progress, final inspection, and project closeout meetings.
- Developing proposals, negotiating contracts, developing work plans (scope, fees, hours, schedule, QA/QC), and tracking project financial performance.
