On behalf of our client, a leading design firm in the transportation and infrastructure sector, we are seeking an experienced and driven Assistant Department Manager to join their Traffic Planning Division. Role Overview:
As the Assistant Department Manager for the Traffic Planning Division, you will play a crucial role in supporting the department's operations, managing key projects, and contributing to the strategic planning and implementation of traffic management solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Traffic Planning Division, including managing day-to-day operations and ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Lead and coordinate transportation planning and traffic engineering projects, including data collection, traffic flow analysis, and infrastructure design.
- Work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and government agencies to develop and implement effective traffic management strategies.
- Prepare detailed traffic impact studies, technical reports, and presentations, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, standards, and regulations to ensure that the division's projects adhere to best practices in traffic planning and transportation engineering.
- Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Candidate Profile:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Traffic Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or additional certifications (e.g., PE / PTOE license) are highly desirable.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, or related disciplines, with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in transportation modeling software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM) and a strong understanding of traffic flow principles and traffic impact analysis.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring that all objectives are met.
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with experience managing and developing teams.
